Emergency Recovery UtilityThe ERU program is on your Windows 95 CDRom (this program is not on the Win98 CDRom ERU please download it here (655k). When you run this program I advise you select "Other directory", if you select floppy drive, the limited capacity of a floppy drive dictates that not ALL of the files will be able to be backed up. When you have to use the Rescue Facility that ERU provides, from the C: prompt, you now type CD ERD and press Enter this will Change Directory to the default directory where the program ERU would have saved your System Files which, in an ideal world, would be just 5 minutes before you had the crash that caused your PC to not boot up in the first place. you now need to type ERD (and press Enter) and the program will now restore all your precious system files, hopefully you should now be able to Reboot your PC from your Hard Drive, remember to remove the emergency floppy.
